The importance of the Worst-case scenario!

The truth is that majority of us are wrong in our estimates of how much time a certain thing will take most of the time!

But still, when we are about to start a new project we land up going by the best-case scenario.

It’s only during the middle of the project that we realize that we will land somewhere around a “Realistic scenario” instead of a “best-case scenario”.

We never look at worst-case scenarios and in a rare case if we land there then it’s absolute mayhem. An example would be the #coronovirus 2nd wave which no one was even remotely prepared for leading to disastrous results.

As per studies on productivity, your best bet of getting timelines and readiness correct lies somewhere between a realistic and a worst-case scenario.

Another benefit of looking at the worst-case scenario is that you are more likely to be aware of what can go wrong instead of pushing it on the backburner.

Additionally, it keeps you on your toes pushing lethargy out.
